Leeds konp meeting notes

Talk to L Party Kirkstall: John and G. Good turnout .  A councillor e mailed concerns / request for clarification afterwards  around KONP’s attitude to 3rd sector  particularly in relation to mental health. Discussed some concerns re outsourcing, bidding against NHs providers, short term contracts and instability  long route to privatisation, ex3rd sector bidding against NHs providers.

NHS Bill not heard. Deferred yet again until Friday 24th Feb. Need to urge MPs to support.

West Yorks Sustainability and Transformation Plan

At the LP mtg the Deputy leader of Leeds Council noted that almost all Leaders of the West Yorks Councils had written to NHS England saying they can’t be expected to support the West Yorks STP as not had sufficient involvement /discussion . A few LAs have published their STP independently.

Unite Health have put together a campaign plan on STPs and circulated a petition . https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/165948 National KONP has had discussions with Unite who said they would welcome working together in the region.  Agreed it would be good to talk to them re joint activities, including a possible  joint public meeting on STPs.

Resources  for campaigning:  999 have a flat pack , see http://www.stopthestps.org.uk/  . Health  Campaigns Together  also have a resource pack http://www.healthcampaignstogether.com. Both may  produce a postcard. However agree we go ahead as planned with producing a West Yorks postcard.

National demo called for march 4th with support of Unite and KONP
