Join us in York next Thursday to protest against the BMA vote proposed for GP fees

If you need transport, please get in touch. Several NHS campaign groups from across Yorkshire are hoping to stand together.

The Local Medical Committees of the British Medical Association are holding a Conference in York on May 22-23 in York at the Barbican. Amongst the motions put forward are several relating to charging patients to see their GP – see section 27 of the Agenda available here: http://bma.org.uk/working-for-change/negotiating-for-the-profession/bma-general-practitioners-committee/lmc-conference-2014

Whilst the motions are unlikely to get approved or supported by a majority of GP’s there are plans to picket the Barbican from 8:30 am on May 22nd to give people a chance to demonstrate their support for a National Health Service free at the point of delivery as delegate arrive for the 9:00 am start.

Support for the action has come from York Peoples’ Assembly, Leeds Keep Our NHS Public (KONP) and Medsin (medical students) amongst others.
